Carlos Manrique, M.D.
Dr. Manrique is a dedicated eye surgeon specializing in refractive surgery. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Manrique is currently the Medical Director of Manrique Custom Vision Center. 
Dr. Manrique’s 9 years of postgraduate training began with internships at Harbor Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He trained in Neurology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee and in Neuro-Ophthalmology at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
Since 1995, Dr. Manrique has been in Ophthalmology. He trained at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, where he also served as Chief Resident. He then worked as Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University and the Scott & White Clinic. Dr Manrique then moved to the Rio Grande Valley and founded Manrique Custom Vision Center.

Dr. Manrique has been featured on multiple local news shows (including KRGV-TV 5, KGBT-TV 4, KNVO-TV 48, and KTLM-TV 40) and we are proud to be the first and only Laser Center in our area to perform live LASIK during the Channel 5 news. Through ongoing seminars, Dr. Manrique continues to educate the community, local eye doctors and family physicians about LASIK. Local personalities, including DJs, news reporters and sports figures, along with other pillars of our community, have trusted their eyes to Dr. Manrique.
Dr. Manrique and his wife, Stephanie Manrique, have three children: Mareah, Helena, and Gabriela. He enjoys golf, soccer, and spending time with his children. |
